Our History

Morris Community Church began in 1982 and is rooted in the following passage from Ephesians 4:11-13:

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

In the New Testament we find not only a history of first century Christian Church, but a pattern for establishing churches by building up the workers in the church and preparing them for the ministries that God has called them to.

MCC prospered under the leadership of Neil Thielke for 20 years before transitioning to the leadership of Pat Franey as Senior Pastor in 2002.  Neil Thielke now assists Pat in pastoring MCC.  Neil is traveling more and is increasing his efforts in training the next generation of workers in the body of Christ through “Outfitters for Adventure” -- a leadership training team working with churches locally and worldwide.
