Summer Institute of Ministry Training
SIMT is an intensive, 10-week Christian mentorship program conducted under the auspices of Morris Community Church. SIMT equips believers for effective service as ambassadors of Christ in all vocations and situations through bible based teaching, mentoring, and practical hands-on ministry. SIMT’s instructors are experienced men and women with a passion for Jesus and a desire to see His children flourish. SIMT gives students the tools they need know God more intimately and minister to others. This is accomplished through the input of gifted and enthusiastic teachers brought in from all over the nation, as well as relationships with other students.
Please consider attending this summer's Institute of Ministry Training School put on by Morris Community Church. It will begin the first week of June and go for ten weeks until about the third week of August. It will cost no more than $75 a week.
The topics that are covered include: Foundational Doctrines, The Holy Spirit, Counseling, Missions, Pastoring, Relationships & Family, The Church, Old and New Testament Surveys, Evangelism and other topics.

SIMT equips believers for effective service as ambassadors of Christ in all vocations and situations through Bible-based teaching, mentoring and practical, hands-on ministry. SIMT's instructors are an experienced, intermational selection of men and women with a passion for Jesus and a desire to see His children flourish. SIMT gives students the tools they need to hear from and know the Lord in a personal way, while equipping htem to discern God's ways and wisdom through the experience and input of others.
What will you gain?
SIMT is designed for Christian with a "fire in their belly" and a hunger for more of God. As a student, you will receive excellent Bible-based teaching from experienced instructors with a global perspective on God's kingdom. You will have opportunities to put into practice what you learn through evangelism activities and body minstry. SIMT also encourages strong relationships with fellow believers. Friendships forged at SIMT are lasting and important parts of everyone's spiritual growth
Allowing time for personal ministry is essential at SIMT. Every believer must be positioned to discover and receive the unique call of God for their life. SIMT creates a sfe atmosphere that allows God to bring healing and direction to the individual through one-on-one meetings with instructors and ministry from peers.
What will you do at SIMT?
Class begins with worship and prayer followed by classroom instruction. These sessions run 4 hours a day Monday through Friday for 10 consecutive weeks starting beginning of June (except July 4th). During these sessions, instructors will cover the following subjects:
- Father's Heart / Holy Spirit Gifts
- Biblical Counseling
- Foundations
- The Church
- Shepherding / Chaplaincy
- Missions
- Relationships
- Old Testament Survey
- New Testament Survey
- Evanelism / Outreach
Each week ends with an exam.
The remainder of the day is open for personal minsitry, fellowhsip, and so much more! Some students take advantage of the free time to work part-time jobs, or at an internship. Many students use this time to get to know the instructors and fellow students better by participating in group activities.

What must you know in advance?
Will I receive credentials for ministry?
You will receive a certificate of completion and rewarding training. However, SIMT is not an accredited seminary.
How do I register?
Contact Angela Franey, Morris Coordinator, at 589-1234 or pat-ang2@runestone.net. She will get you a registration form that must be handed in with a $15 registration fee.
Are there any discounts?
Yes! - SIMT offers a $30 discount for any full-time student whose payment is received in full on or before May 15, 2006.
Is there an age limit?
All ages are welcome, but general guidelines are ages 15 and up.
What should you bring?
All standard academic supplies such as pens, paper, and highlighters, as well as a BIble. We recommend you also bring a concordance, personal hournal, camera and an open heart.
Do you offer scholarships or housing?
Limited h ousing placement is available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Some scholarships are available. They will be issued based on need.
Is there orientation?
An orientation session will be held the Sunday before classes start at 7:00 pm at Morris Community Church.
